Responsibilities
- Design and validate redundant safety systems for Level 5 autonomous vehicles
- Develop real-time fault detection algorithms using sensor fusion and edge computing
- Conduct high-fidelity simulation testing in extreme weather scenarios
- Collaborate with quantum computing teams to optimize safety decision trees
- Lead regulatory compliance initiatives for DOT and ISO 26262 standards
- Document safety protocols for autonomous vehicle certification
Qualifications
- M.S. in Robotics, AI, or related engineering field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years in autonomous vehicle safety systems development
- Expertise in ISO 26262 and ASIL-D safety architecture
- Proficiency in C++/Python with embedded systems experience
- Published research in fault-tolerant AI or sensor fusion
- Experience with CARLA, AirSim, or similar simulation platforms
- Security clearance or willingness to obtain government clearance
