Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, including vital sign monitoring and specimen collection
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient documentation
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle insurance verification
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and reliable transportation
