Responsibilities
- Lead pioneering research in quantum computing, neural interfaces, and climate tech solutions
- Develop proprietary algorithms for predictive modeling of technological convergence points
- Collaborate with product teams to translate research into market-ready innovations
- Secure and manage $5M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Mentor a team of 8+ PhD researchers and publish in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Represent Nexus at global tech summits and shape industry standards for 2026+ technologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or Computational Biology with 5+ years R&D experience
- Published research in quantum machine learning or neuromorphic computing
- Expertise in at least one emerging tech domain: quantum supremacy, AGI safety, or carbon capture AI
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants ($3M+)
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong portfolio of 3+ commercially viable research prototypes
- Experience with ethical AI governance frameworks and responsible innovation practices
