Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a 3-year strategic technology roadmap aligned with 2026 market projections
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping next-gen solutions (AI agents, quantum algorithms, bio-integrated systems)
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies and assess commercial viability
- Partner with C-suite to integrate tech strategy into business objectives and investor pitches
- Mentor engineers and researchers through innovation sprints and hackathons
- Author white papers on future tech trends for industry conferences and publications
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D budget through compelling business cases and ROI projections
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership with proven 2025+ tech roadmap execution
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains: quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, or synthetic biology
- Published thought leadership in IEEE, Nature, or similar tier-1 journals
- Successful track record of scaling tech teams from 10 to 100+ engineers
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futurology (PhD preferred)
- Proficiency in strategic foresight methodologies (e.g., Delphi, Horizon Scanning)
- Experience securing federal grants (DARPA, NSF) or corporate venture capital
- Portfolio of at least 3 commercialized technologies with >$10M revenue impact
