Responsibilities
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures
- Manage patient intake and electronic health records (EHR)
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment
- Handle insurance verification and basic billing tasks
- Provide patient education on treatment plans
- Coordinate referrals and prescription renewals
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification or CNA license
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish (bilingual a plus)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to cover occasional weekday shifts
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Background check and TB clearance required
