Responsibilities
- Design and validate implantable neural interface hardware with sub-micron precision
- Develop closed-loop biofeedback systems using real-time EEG/ECOG data processing
- Integrate machine learning algorithms for pattern recognition in neural signals
- Conduct pre-clinical testing protocols in ISO 13485-compliant environments
- Collaborate with FDA regulatory specialists for 510(k) pathway clearance
- Lead cross-functional teams in agile development of neuro-prosthetic prototypes
- Document technical specifications in compliance with ISO 14971 risk management standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise in microfabrication of biocompatible neural probes (e.g., Utah array, Michigan probes)
- Proficiency in Python/C++ for real-time signal processing and embedded systems
- Published research in IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
- Certification in ISO 13485 quality management systems
- Experience with FDA regulatory submissions for Class II/III medical devices
- Strong background in electrophysiology and neural signal analysis techniques
