Responsibilities
- Architect and execute quantum computing research roadmaps targeting 2026 commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists in quantum algorithm development
- Develop novel error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Translate theoretical quantum advantage into practical industry solutions
- Secure and manage $10M+ annual research budgets
- Collaborate with government agencies on quantum security standards
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record publishing quantum algorithm breakthroughs (top-tier journals)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface codes, color codes)
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong Python/C++ programming with quantum libraries (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants (NSF/DOE)
- Experience mentoring quantum research teams of 10+ scientists
