Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithm research targeting 2026 computational milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists
- Develop patentable quantum solutions for commercial and scientific applications
- Secure $5M+ in quantum computing grants and partnerships
- Present breakthrough findings at premier quantum conferences (QIP, IEEE)
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum machine learning principles
- Collaborate with government agencies on national quantum security initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in Nature/Science journals (2020-2025)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Demonstrated success leading $1M+ research projects
- Expertise in quantum error correction protocols
- Clearance for DOE/NIST quantum security initiatives
