Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers in quantum system integration
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private quantum foundations
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics and IEEE Quantum Journals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory and computational complexity
- Collaborate with global partners to establish quantum computing standards for 2026
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record in quantum algorithm development (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulators
- Strong publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals/conferences
- Experience managing quantum hardware integration with classical HPC systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Knowledge of quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, topological codes)
