Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for NISQ-era hardware optimization
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error mitigation protocols
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at quantum conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for enterprise applications
- Secure $2M+ annual research grants from government/private institutions
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of quantum algorithm development with demonstrated publications
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of securing government research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with superconducting and trapped-ion qubit systems
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Published work in Nature/Science journals preferred
