Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols
- Architect scalable quantum computing infrastructure targeting 10,000+ qubit systems
- Collaborate with industry partners to commercialize breakthrough quantum applications
- Drive research initiatives in quantum machine learning and cryptography
- Secure $5M+ in government and private research funding
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish in top-tier scientific journals
- Develop intellectual property portfolio with 10+ patent filings annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years quantum research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience leading teams of 15+ researchers with $10M+ budgets
- Proficiency in quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical applications
- Strong network with DOE/NIST quantum research initiatives
- Patents or commercial quantum technology deployments preferred
