Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum computing research roadmap targeting 2026 commercial viability
- Lead cross-functional teams in quantum algorithm development and error correction
- Secure $5M+ in research grants and strategic partnerships with quantum hardware providers
- Author breakthrough publications in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Translate theoretical quantum models into scalable industrial applications
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and drive quantum talent pipeline development
- Collaborate with government agencies on national quantum security initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years R&D experience
- Proven track record publishing in top-tier quantum computing journals (h-index >20)
- Expertise in quantum error correction, topological qubits, or quantum machine learning
- Experience securing DOE/NIST grants and managing $1M+ research budgets
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware landscape (superconducting, photonic, trapped ion)
- Strong technical leadership managing 10+ person research teams
- Patent portfolio with 3+ granted quantum computing patents
- Fluency in Python/C++ and quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
