Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation tasks
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions into enterprise systems
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit stability and coherence
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at IEEE/ACM conferences
- Secure federal grants and corporate partnerships for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum methodologies
- Stay current with emerging quantum hardware (photonic, trapped-ion) and software frameworks
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics
- 5+ years of experience in quantum computing research with demonstrated publication record
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and classical HPC environments
- Proficiency in machine learning for quantum system optimization and noise modeling
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and information theory
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Proven ability to secure research funding through NSF/NIH grants or industry partnerships
