Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-correction protocols for quantum processors
- Lead research projects in quantum machine learning and hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise PhD interns
- Secure federal and private research grants totaling $1M+ annually
- Develop patentable quantum computing methodologies and frameworks
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of quantum computing research with published papers in Nature/Science
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation tools
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel programming
- Proven track record of securing research funding
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
