Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes in cryogenic environments
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit stability and computational fidelity
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Collaborate with product teams to translate theoretical breakthroughs into commercial applications
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency with cryogenic quantum hardware and control systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with HPC systems and parallel computing frameworks
