Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experiments with superconducting qubit systems at millikelvin temperatures
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processor architectures
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent portfolio development
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance techniques
- Strong publication record in quantum information science
- Familiarity with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Proficiency in Python/C++ and high-performance computing environments
- Ability to secure research funding through NSF/DOE proposals
