Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting qubit systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical models with physical implementations
- Secure federal and private research grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to lab's intellectual property portfolio
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing focus
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum information science or quantum error correction
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Track record of securing research funding or patents
