Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Develop specialized quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit performance and coherence times
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Publish high-impact research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grants
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computing methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development or hardware research
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and information theory
- Demonstrated publication record in quantum computing or related fields
- Experience with low-level quantum control systems (FPGAs, microwave electronics)
- Ability to translate complex theoretical concepts into practical implementations
