Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms targeting 2026 industry benchmarks in drug discovery and materials science
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum error correction systems for fault-tolerant computing
- Author peer-reviewed publications on quantum supremacy applications
- Design scalable quantum architectures compatible with classical HPC infrastructures
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum machine learning frameworks
- Secure $5M+ in DOE/NIST quantum research grants
- Collaborate with NASA on quantum navigation systems for deep-space missions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum information theory
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proficiency in Python/C++ for high-performance quantum simulations
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems (e.g., IBM Quantum, Rigetti)
- Demonstrated success in securing federal quantum research funding
