Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in cryptography and materials science
- Lead development of error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate quantum processors with classical computing frameworks
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and industry whitepapers
- Present findings at international quantum computing conferences (QCE, APS March Meeting)
- Mentor junior researchers and oversee PhD student projects
- Secure and manage research grants from NSF, DoD, and private foundations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and simulation tools (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and decoherence mitigation
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level quantum programming languages
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding ($500K+ preferred)
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum systems
