Responsibilities
- Lead Infrastructure Strategy: Architect and oversee the end-to-end IT infrastructure roadmap for all 2026 World Cup venues, ensuring alignment with FIFA standards and organizational goals.
- Network Engineering & Management: Design and maintain high-availability, low-latency networks, including Wi-Fi 6 deployment, fiber optic backhaul, and 5G integration for fan zones and stadiums.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Implement and enforce enterprise-grade security protocols to protect sensitive athlete data, ticketing systems, and broadcast feeds from cyber threats.
- Disaster Recovery & Continuity: Develop and execute robust business continuity plans to ensure IT systems remain operational during high-traffic events and potential disruptions.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors, stadium operators, and government bodies to integrate technology seamlessly into physical infrastructure.
- Team Leadership: Mentor a cross-functional team of network engineers, system administrators, and support staff, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a proven track record in large-scale event technology or high-profile corporate environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: PMP, ITIL, CCNP, or equivalent advanced technical certifications.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in cloud computing (AWS/Azure), virtualization (VMware), and network security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues under pressure and deliver immediate solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
