Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and clinical procedures
- Perform vital sign measurements and basic diagnostic tests
- Prepare and maintain medical instruments and sterile supplies
- Manage patient scheduling and electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications
- Coordinate laboratory services and prescription refills
- Maintain clean and organized examination rooms
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current CPR certification (BLS)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athenahealth)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Virginia CMA or RMA certification required
