Responsibilities
- Analyze and synthesize global megatrends (AI ethics, climate tech, neuro interfaces) to develop 5-10 year strategic scenarios
- Lead cross-functional workshops to translate foresight into actionable R&D priorities
- Author quarterly 'Horizon Reports' with data-driven predictions for board stakeholders
- Partner with product teams to embed future-proofing principles into innovation pipelines
- Establish industry thought leadership via whitepapers and keynote presentations
- Monitor geopolitical/socioeconomic shifts affecting long-term strategy
- Mentor junior futurists in trend analysis methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 7+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or R&D leadership
- Proven track record of translating future trends into commercial opportunities
- Expertise in horizon scanning, scenario planning, and trend analysis frameworks
- Deep knowledge of emerging technologies (quantum, AGI, synthetic biology)
- Exceptional storytelling skills for complex technical concepts
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., AC/FS) or equivalent
- Portfolio demonstrating 3+ future-shaping initiatives
