Responsibilities
- Analyze converging tech trends (quantum computing, neural interfaces, synthetic biology) to identify disruptive opportunities through 2026
- Develop scenario-planning models for 3-5 year horizon with 95% predictive accuracy
- Lead cross-functional workshops to translate foresight into product roadmaps and venture investments
- Author quarterly FutureScan reports distributed to C-suite and board members
- Partner with government agencies and academic institutions on policy frameworks for emerging technologies
- Mentor junior futurists and build an internal foresight incubator
- Represent company at global innovation summits (Davos, Web Summit, SXSW)
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Futures Studies, Systems Thinking, or related field with 7+ years experience
- Proven track record of predicting major tech shifts (showcase 3+ validated forecasts)
- Expertise in horizon scanning, Delphi methods, and probabilistic modeling
- Deep knowledge of exponential technologies (blockchain, AGI, climate tech)
- Exceptional communication skills translating complex concepts for diverse stakeholders
- Published thought leadership in MIT Technology Review, Future, or equivalent
- Proficiency in foresight platforms (e.g., Foresight Platform, Kumu)
- Portfolio demonstrating 2+ implemented strategic initiatives from trend analysis
