Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI ethics governance frameworks aligned with NIST AI RMF and EU AI Act guidelines
- Conduct algorithmic bias audits across machine learning pipelines and generative AI systems
- Develop compliance documentation for federal and state AI regulatory requirements
- Lead cross-functional ethics reviews for high-stakes AI deployments in regulated industries
- Create training programs for technical teams on responsible AI development practices
- Monitor emerging AI legislation and advise on policy implications for product roadmaps
- Collaborate with legal teams to prepare regulatory submissions for AI certification processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Ethics, Public Policy, or related field; PhD preferred
- 5+ years in AI governance, compliance, or responsible tech development roles
- Certification in AI ethics (e.g., IBM AI Ethics, Google Responsible AI) or equivalent
- Deep understanding of machine learning fairness metrics and bias mitigation techniques
- Experience with regulatory frameworks for AI (NIST, EU AI Act, state-level regulations)
- Strong technical aptitude to evaluate AI systems and audit algorithmic decision-making
- Exceptional communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
