Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum machine learning architectures for real-world applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping AI solutions with quantum acceleration
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals
- Develop ethical frameworks for quantum AI deployment
- Collaborate with DARPA and NASA on classified innovation projects
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum-computing fundamentals
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from NSF and private foundations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, or Physics (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years implementing quantum algorithms on real hardware (IBM Q/Rigetti)
- Published research in top-tier AI/quantum conferences (NeurIPS, QIP)
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum frameworks (Qiskit, PennyLane)
- Experience with neuro-symbolic AI integration
- Clearance for government-level R&D projects (or ability to obtain)
- Track record of translating theory into commercial products
