Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error mitigation techniques for noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processor architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Mentor junior researchers and secure external funding through NSF/NIH grants
- Translate theoretical models into practical quantum software frameworks
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color, LDPC)
- Published work in quantum algorithm design or quantum simulation
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity theory
- Proficiency with high-performance computing environments (HPC clusters)
- Experience with machine learning frameworks for quantum data analysis
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
