Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and simulation
- Lead research on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at major conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical applications
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates and lead cross-functional quantum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and quantum annealing
- Experience with superconducting quantum processors or ion traps
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Track record of securing competitive government research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
