Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and creation of high-fidelity 2D assets, including characters, environments, and UI elements, ensuring visual consistency across all platforms.
- Collaborate closely with art directors and technical leads to translate creative briefs into production-ready assets that meet rigorous performance standards.
- Implement advanced rigging and animation techniques using industry-standard tools to bring game assets to life with fluid motion.
- Optimize 2D textures and sprites for maximum visual impact while maintaining minimal memory footprint on target hardware.
- Mentor junior artists, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and creative excellence.
- Conduct regular code and asset reviews to identify bottlenecks and innovative solutions for complex visual challenges.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in 2D game development, animation, or visual effects.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and industry-standard game engines (Unity or Unreal Engine).
- Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and typography, with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic skill.
- Experience with 2D rigging, bone systems, and animation cycles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex design concepts to cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote-first environment while meeting tight deadlines.
