Job Summary
The Senior Backend Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our core infrastructure. You will work independently during the night shift to ensure data integrity, system stability, and seamless integration of new features.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices for high-traffic applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues during off-peak hours.
- Collaborate with the night shift operations team to resolve production incidents and ensure uptime.
- Optimize database queries and ensure data security and integrity.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on the night crew.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development (Python, Java, or Go).
- Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and caching solutions.
- Experience working in a night shift or 24/7 operations environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision during the night.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
