Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical industry applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers on prototype development
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Develop error-correction methodologies for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Secure $1M+ in government/private research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Translate quantum proofs into patentable intellectual property
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum circuit development experience
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Demonstrated success securing federal research grants
- Expertise in quantum error correction and decoherence mitigation
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion qubit architectures
