Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors and test new qubit technologies
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at top-tier conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-departmental innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research experience
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics and quantum information theory
- Proven track record of translating theoretical concepts into experimental prototypes
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong Python/C++ programming and classical algorithm optimization skills
