Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Conduct cutting-edge research in qubit coherence and error correction methodologies
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve quantum processor performance metrics
- Develop quantum machine learning models for predictive analytics
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Physical Review X)
- Lead cross-functional projects with government and industry partners
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with demonstrated publications
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Experience with superconducting qubits or trapped-ion systems
- Proven ability to secure competitive research grants (NSF, DARPA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
