Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant system architectures
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks for enterprise-scale solutions
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature, Science, or IEEE journals with quarterly targets
- Mentor a team of 3-5 junior researchers while securing $2M+ in annual research grants
- Collaborate with government agencies (DARPA, NSF) and Fortune 500 partners on quantum initiatives
- Translate theoretical breakthroughs into production-ready quantum software solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years industry research experience
- Published 10+ peer-reviewed papers in quantum computing or related fields
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and circuit optimization
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with experience in high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated success in securing federal research grants (SBIR/STTR preferred)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation and topological qubit systems
- Experience leading cross-disciplinary teams across physics, engineering, and AI domains
- Strong track record of commercializing quantum technologies through patents or products
